Youngafro.com is back with version 2.0 continuing its primary mission of providing free media analysis and content for black children internationally. Curating good animated content with positive messages will continue to be our focus and below we summarize some of the future development releases we have planned for the site this year:
- Adding a children’s book review section with links to purchases and other resources provided by authors,
- Adding a Travel section which highlights vlogs and other content from individuals’ experiences living in other parts of the world,
- Providing new features that allow content producers, parents, educators and other users to submit videos to the site in an effort to decentralize the content search and selection process,
- Adding user registration and channel/playlist creation features for content producers, parents, educators and other users to aggregate content in a way that works best for their particular use case,
- Technology and coding/codebase section consisting of tutorials and other applied learning modules
- Adding community collaboration, sharing and team building platform that will allow, among others, for:
- Virtual classroom creation for educators
- One-on-one parent and child(ren) communication and learning sessions
- Content producer feedback and support platforms
- Project/Product/Service idea generation, research, development, implementation and continued integration/analysis (for example, using Agile methods to execute a technology based solution for a particular community service need)
All of the items above have already been sourced, developed and tested and are ready to be rolled out however, we expect a few minor unforeseeable bumps during implementation. With limited funding and in an effort to mitigate issues arising from any unexpected demand spikes in traffic and resource usage, we will slowly roll out these features throughout the year. We primarily stay committed to focusing on free content for analysis and developing our technology-based learning platform.
